FSM6 Program Overview

The FSM6 program will feature a variety of sessions, 35% of our program will be curated from our abstract process where abstracts were submitted and reviewed by external reviewers, 25% of the program will be designed by the FSM6 Conference Committee and the FSM Alliance, 20% will feature Indonesia and be curated by our local partners in Indonesia, and 20% will be convened by organisations and stakeholders in the sector via our Sector Hosted Sessions.

The Opening & Closing Ceremonies, Plenaries, and Track Sessions will all be pre-recorded and will be released daily at the same time each day and you may stream these sessions on-demand.

The FSMA Spotlight Series, Sector Hosted, and Discussion Forums will all be live sessions. We have scheduled these to be staggered across multiple time zones, so that wherever you are joining us from, there will be several live sessions you can participate in. The FSMA Spotlight Series and Sector Hosted Sessions will be recorded and posted to the event platform the next day for on-demand streaming.

Plenary Series (Pre-recorded)

The 3 plenaries will focus on the central theme of FSM6, “Celebrating 10 Years: FSM Heroes – Past, Present and Future”. Over the course of the conference, we will explore the beginnings of the conference, going back to FSM1, looking at where we are today, and finally, where we think the sector can focus for the future.

Abstract Track Sessions (Pre-recorded)

FSM6 will feature 3 oral tracks and 1 poster track focused on Applied Research. Both the oral and poster tracks were curated from our abstract submission process. 52 abstracts were selected by our Track Leads based on scores from external reviewers. These 4 themes were chosen by the FSM6 Conference Committee as some of the key central issues in FSM service delivery.

We will also feature 2 Indonesia themed tracks. More details on these to follow.

FSMA Spotlight Series (Live)

The FSMA Spotlight Series is new to the FSM conference this year. We created this new category of sessions to widen the topics covered during the conference. This series will feature 12 spotlight topics exploring a wide range of topics not covered in the track themes – from decision-making in FSM to successful case studies to sessions on practical solutions attendees could begin implementing once the conference is over.

Sector Hosted Sessions (Live)

We have also added Sector Hosted Sessions for organisations or individuals who are interested in presenting their work during the conference. Anyone may host a session (subject to availability). These sessions will be live and 90 minutes long. The cost to host a session is 2,500 EUR. There are still spaces available! Please contact Jan Heinecke if you are interested.

Discussion Forums (Live)

The Discussion forums will be held twice daily to accommodate multiple time zones and will be open forums to discuss track themes, questions, and presentations. Track presenters will be encouraged to attend but these will not be more formal Q&A sessions with presenters only.

World Emptying Challenge

FSMA is proud to host and support the Pit Emptying Challenge in our conferences.

FSM Conferences have acted as a ‘gathering spot’ for the Pit Emptiers and their associations to interact and share knowledge. However, due to the current situation, we realise we need to adapt and find a way to do this ‘virtually’ as well.

The World Emptier Challenge at FSM6 will be a social media challenge, which would have a range of manual-mechanised pit emptiers sharing their work in short videos. The video Challenge is similar to the traditional ‘Pit-Emptying’ challenge- where the techniques in the video will be voted upon- but this time, the votes will come in the form of ‘likes’ from viewers.

Virtual Exhibition

FSM6 is offering a number of virtual exhibition packages which will enable organisations to best profile themselves on the online conference platform. In our virtual exhibition, we hope to create a similar feel to an-person exhibition without the hassle of shipping, booth set-up, and customs logistics. We encourage all attendees to engage with exhibitors! Set aside time to visit each virtual exhibition!

Hero

FSM Heroes

The theme of this year’s conference is, Celebrating 10 Years: FSM Heroes- Past, Present and Future.
In keeping with the theme, we want to celebrate and recognise all FSM Heroes! We are asking people to nominate their Heroes. Do you know someone who has made a big impact within FSM? Have you worked with someone in FSM who has inspired you/ continues to inspire you? All nominated heroes will be featured during the opening ceremony on 31 May.

FSM Mastermind

Are you a mastermind in FSM? Throughout FSM6, each attendee will be given the opportunity to compete against other attendees to show us who is a true FSM mastermind. More details to come!
